Well....after some digging around (now i'm ashamed) it turns out that altho CG society offers more in terms of critique and good conversation about anything CG it still has every bit of the same things I don't like in DA.

that said I will not abandon this site, but in the future I will get more picky about deviations and commenting back if you say "nice colors. I really like colors"

anyways. this is all just me trying to get more concentrated and professional-like :P

well...my opinion is that DA is not a portfolio or such. But it claims to be an artist community but the very roots of that idea are rotten.

I don't actually know what DA is :P the whole point of this site has been lost in the flood of panty shots.

I think I might defect to conceptart.org. I will feel highly inadequet there, but might get some constructive comments!
